Title: Shoot or Save Elimination Category: Finishing / Competition Age Tags: U11, U13, U15, U17, 19U+ Skill Tags: Finishing, Shooting Technique, Goalkeeping, Reaction Speed, Competition Purpose: Create a fun, competitive shooting environment that reinforces composure in front of goal and quick goalkeeper reactions. Setup: Players line up outside the penalty area with balls. One player starts in goal. Full-size goal. Play continues in elimination format. Drill Steps: • First player in line takes a shot on goal. • If they score, they return to the back of the line. • If they miss, they become the goalkeeper. • The goalkeeper attempts to save the next shot. • If the goalkeeper makes the save, the shooter is out. • If the goalkeeper allows a goal, they are out and shooter returns to line. • Game continues until one player remains as winner. Coaching Points: • Stay composed when shooting. • Pick corners, don’t rush. • Quick set position for goalkeepers. • React quickly after shot outcome. • Maintain competitive intensity while keeping it fun. Variations: • One-touch finish only. • Weak foot only. • Timed rounds instead of elimination. • Add designated shooting zones. Time: 10–15 minutes
