Drill Description

Title: PIG Juggling Circle Category: Technical Warm-Up Age Tags: U11, U13, U15, U17, 19U+ Skill Tags: Ball Control, Juggling, First Touch, Volley Technique, Awareness Purpose: Develop touch, control, and volley technique while encouraging players to concentrate and compete in a fun setting. Setup: Players form a circle. One ball in play. Drill Steps: • A player serves the ball to another player using a juggle or half-volley. • Receiving player controls and volleys the ball to another player in the circle. • Play continues around the circle. • If a player makes a poor serve or bad touch, they receive the letter “P.” • On the next mistake, the player receives “PI,” then “PIG.” • Players with all three letters are eliminated or perform a task. Coaching Points: • Stay balanced when striking the ball. • Use soft touch when controlling. • Keep eyes on the ball. • Communicate with teammates before passing. • Focus on clean contact. Variations: • Ball may bounce once for beginners. • Full volley only for advanced players. • Headers allowed for older groups. • Two-touch limit. Time: 8–12 minutes
