Continuous Slalom Dribbling
Title: Continuous Slalom Dribbling Category: Technical Warm-Up Age Tags: U11, U13, U15, U17, 19U+ Skill Tags: Dribbling, Ball Control, Change of Direction, Use of Both Feet, Agility Purpose: Improve close ball control and change of direction while developing comfort using both feet at speed. Setup: Set up two identical slalom cone lines (8–12 cones each). Two lines of players, one at each slalom start. Each player starts with a ball. Players return along the sideline after finishing. Drill Steps: • First player in each line dribbles through the slalom cones. • Focus on tight touches and controlled turns. • After finishing, player dribbles back along the sideline. • Player joins the back of their line. • Drill continues continuously. Coaching Points: • Keep ball close while navigating cones. • Use inside and outside of both feet. • Stay low and balanced during turns. • Accelerate out of each change of direction. • Keep head up when possible. Variations: • Weak foot only. • Add specific move at each cone. • Add passive defender at end. • Increase speed requirement on return run. Time: 5–8 minutes
