Pass and Move Drill
Title: Pass and Move Circle Category: Technical / Possession Age Tags: U11, U13, U15, U17, 19U+ Skill Tags: Passing & Receiving, Movement Off Ball, First Touch, Awareness, Support Play Purpose: Develop the habit of moving immediately after passing while improving passing accuracy and first touch under light pressure. Setup: Set up 6 cones in a circle or hexagon shape (8–12 yards apart). 5 players positioned on 5 cones (1 cone empty). 1 ball in play. Drill Steps: • Player 1 starts with the ball and passes to any teammate. • After passing, Player 1 runs to the empty cone. • Receiving player controls the ball and passes to another teammate. • After passing, that player moves to the new empty cone. • Drill continues continuously with one open cone at all times. Coaching Points: • Move immediately after passing. • Open body to receive. • First touch into space. • Communicate before and after passing. • Maintain proper spacing and tempo. Variations: • Two-touch limit. • One-touch passing. • Add a passive or active defender. • Increase passing distance. Time: 6–10 minutes
