Age Categories U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U18, College, Adult Tags Shooting, Mechanics, Warm-Up Equipment Needed - Basketballs - Optional floor spots for positioning Players 1–3 per basket Space Needed Inside the key Purpose - Build consistent shooting mechanics - Improve proper hand placement - Reinforce correct follow-through - Develop shooting confidence Setup - Players stand 1–2 meters from the basket. - Shooting hand placed under the ball. - Guide hand placed lightly on the side. - Feet shoulder-width apart, balanced stance. Drill Steps - Player shoots using only the shooting hand. - Focus on straight wrist snap and clean release. - Hold follow-through until the ball reaches the rim. - Rebound own shot. - Repeat for a set number of makes before switching spots or adding progression. Progressions / Variations - Add guide hand while maintaining proper form. - Take one step back after a set number of makes. - Swish-only challenge. - Add one-dribble pull-up for older groups.
